What We Did

Le Grande Picnic

On 23 May 09 Jeremie and his friends organised a bike ride from our hire centre at Waterloo to Hampton Court. They all congregated (over 50) on Sunday morning at Gabriel's wharf, bringing with them flasks coffee, and a few drops of brandy.

It was turning out to be a beautiful day, I had to cycle with them just in case they had mechanical problems(as it turned out there were none) but they had organised plenty of watering holes along the way. By lunch they arrived at a park opposite Hampton Court and chucked the bicycles on the grass as hunger pains were taking over.

The picnic was a grand affair Jeremie and most of his friends were from southern Europe, they don't just bring a ham sandwich, one guy had bought a whole Spanish Jamon and was slicing it en mass. After the game of football, I must admit they just took over some kids game because they had forgotten their own football and a family photograph it was time to return to the pub at Richmond.
