Today is a momentous day in British royal history. Her Majesty the Queen has been on the throne for a total of 63 years, seven months and two days, making her the longest reigning British monarch in history. Queen Victoria used to hold the title but is now being surpassed by Queen Elizabeth II, who at nearly 90 is also the oldest ruler to still be on the throne.

Free films for September

When this rainy weather finally blows away and September is swiftly upon us, you can enjoy a whole host of free films in the (hopefully dry!) open air. More London Free Festival is back once again with a cracking line up of movies for you to enjoy.

The Scoop is a fantastic open air amphitheatre located right next to Tower Bridge with stunning views of the river Thames and the City of London. If you can drag your eyes away from the views you can get your fill of current, retro, classic and cult movies over the next month (2-24 September) without spending a single penny.
