January may be coming to an end but as you should know by now the entertainment in London is a never-ending conveyor belt of conviviality. And there’s a real corker swinging in to town this week and charging heartily onwards for a whopping 6 weeks!

Vault Festival (28th Jan until 8th Mar) will be astonishing central London for a third year with a jam-packed series of events occurring day and night, many costing as little as a fiver. It’s a self-proclaimed ‘unexpected and untamed underground festival’ and one you should definitely be attending.

With a loose theme leading the conversation towards inequality (in politics, gender, income), you can expect to be educated, elucidated and exhilarated by the entertainment on offer.  There’s a heady and eclectic proffering of comedy, theatre, music, art installations, immersive theatre and everything in between, so I’ll eat my hat if there isn’t something to tickle your fancy.

Wednesdays and Sundays will bring you free live music from the Nest Collective folk club among others, while Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are the late night parties. Think raucous and inventive themed nights continuing into the wee hours. One for the diary perhaps is the Love andLightning Valentine Ball (13 & 14 Feb), promising you a match-makeable love nest of music, performance and art installations.

For the cash strapped out there we’ve picked out a few of the cheaper events that we think will be worth checking out. This Friday Mellow Baku and Marcus Joseph bring you Higher Sound, an immersive music performance using improvisation and jazz inspired storytelling and spoken word. All for a mere £5. For some quirky sketch comedy for a fiver, get yourself to Cavern on Feb 25 for aLOne by Loren O’Brien. Or if good old-fashioned circus antics float your boat (and it’s absolutely free of charge!) you need to check out Flown, happening 7th and 8th Feb at 11am. Expect acrobatics, laughs a minute and extraordinary physical feats all set to a score of live music. Not for the faint hearted!

I hope I’ve got you as excited about this festival as we are here at LBTC. Check out the full line up here and maybe see you there!
